Roses are generally used for cutting propagation, and very few seeds are used for planting.
One is because the seed germination rate is low, the other is because the seed reproduction will degenerate, and the third is that the seeds are not easy to get, but no matter how difficult it is, it does not mean it is impossible. See how to plant rose seeds.
1. Treatment of rose seeds before sowing
The rose seeds are first obtained and soaked in water. The seeds that float on the water are hollow seeds, and the seeds that sink to the bottom are full and usable seeds.
Soak and disinfect the rose seeds, and then prepare a container, fill it with a proper amount of wet sand, and sprinkle the seeds on the wet sand, cover the upper layer with 3 to 5 cm of wet sand, and then put them into minus 2 degrees in the refrigerator freezer, refrigerate for about 60 days, and then take it out, you can start normal planting.
2. Prepare potting soil
When planting, prepare a pot of loose potting soil, which can be prepared by mixing river sand, leaf soil and organic fertilizer, and pay attention to disinfection to avoid breeding insects, so that the nutrients are sufficient and the air permeability is good, which is more conducive to later growth.
Plant the germinated rose seeds in pots. The suitable temperature of the rose is 15-25℃, so the planting time should not be in the cold winter season. It is best to plant after the spring thaw and the temperature gradually stabilizes. At this time, planting is good for the late growth of the rose. The rose planting time should not be too early or too late, generally March to April is the most suitable.
