Hydroponic plants are becoming more and more popular in home gardening, but some flower lovers still have many technical problems in the care of hydroponic plants. How can we grow a pot of hydroponic flowers well?

1. Change the water regularly
When the water in the hydroponic container becomes slightly turbid, it is time to replace the water in the container. Under normal circumstances, the water is changed every 10-15 days in spring and autumn; the replacement cycle in summer is about 5 days; in winter, it is replaced every 30 days.

2. Cleaning the plants
Every time you change the water, clean the roots of the hydroponic flowers and the inner wall of the hydroponic container with clean water, and wipe the dust on the leaves with a damp cloth to keep the leaves clean, and trim dead branches, fallen leaves and rotten roots.

3. Add nutrient solution
When changing the water, it is best to use cold boiled water or mineral water. If you use tap water, it takes more than 6 hours to clarify. Then, referring to the ratio of nutrient solution and water required by the relevant hydroponic plants, pour the prescribed amount of nutrient solution into the water, and shake it up to be used for hydroponic flowers.

4. Increase air humidity
Pay attention to maintaining ventilation, the place where hydroponic flowers are placed requires a certain amount of air humidity. If the air humidity is not enough, spray mist of clear water into the air to increase the air humidity. Usually spray a small amount of misty water on the leaves, or wipe the flower leaves with a damp cloth to keep the leaves clean and dust-free.

5. Placement
Hydroponic flowers can generally be placed in indoor environments such as offices, conference rooms, halls, coffee tables, computers, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms. When placing it, try to place it in a place with sufficient scattered light indoors, but avoid direct sunlight and cold wind.

6. Temperature control
The indoor temperature should be controlled between 8℃~30℃. If the temperature is too high, air-conditioning refrigeration, water spraying, water curtain cooling and other means can be adopted to cool down appropriately. At the same time, ventilation must be strengthened. In winter, we should pay attention to heat preservation measures for hydroponic flowers. When the weather is clear, you can let the hydroponic flowers bask in the sun. If you encounter extreme low temperatures, you can use a heater to increase the ambient temperature. You can also use a thicker transparent plastic bag to cover the hydroponic flowers from top to bottom, and open 3 to 4 holes in the plastic bag to facilitate ventilation.

7. Deal with rotting roots
If rotting roots are found in hydroponic flowers, they should be removed in time. That is, first use clean scissors to cut the rotten roots from the root system at one time, then disinfect the roots with 0.5% potassium permanganate for 10 minutes and rinse them with clean water. Fix the treated plants in a planting basket and suspend them in a container filled with clean water, and change the water every two days. After the new root system grows out, it can be placed in a hydroponic container with an appropriate amount of nutrient solution for normal hydroponic cultivation.

8. Improve water quality
If possible, add 1% hydrogen peroxide (3% hydrogen peroxide) or 0.1% potassium permanganate to the hydroponic nutrient solution to release oxygen or inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and algae in the water. Of course, a small amount of microbial fertilizer or activated carbon can also be added to the hydroponic nutrient solution to improve water quality and make it more conducive to plant root absorption.

9. Decoration
According to personal preference, a small amount of goldfish, water plants and other aquatic organisms can be stocked in the hydroponic container, and pebbles or other unique stones can be added to enhance its ornamental.
