Pineapple is a tropical fruit that many people like to eat. It is sour and sweet. So can we grow pineapples in pots? How do we grow pineapples in my own flower pots? Here is a simple method.

1. The choice of pineapple is important
First of all, choose a very fresh pineapple for planting. You can buy it at a supermarket or fruit shop. The leaves on the top of the pineapple should be very fresh and green, and it should be a ripe pineapple, but don’t choose those that are overripe. , Check carefully whether there are insects in the leaves, and gently pull the leaves. If the leaves are easily picked off, it means that the pineapple is already very ripe and is not suitable for potting.

2. Ready to plant crown buds
The so-called crown bud is the top part of the pineapple fruit. It is the most nutritious, so it is best for planting! Use a knife to cut off the entire crown bud of the pineapple without leaving any pulp on the top. Otherwise, decay will occur.

3. Hydroponic Rooting
After the crown bud cuts are dried, prepare a transparent cup with pure water, then put the crown bud in the cup, soak the rhizome in clean water for about 3cm, and then place it in a light, ventilated and warm on the windowsill, the environment maintains a certain humidity, and the water is changed once every 3 days to ensure the activity of the water and promote root induction. In about ten days, the rhizome will grow small white roots.

4. Planted in the soil
The pineapple seedlings that grow roots need to continue to grow in the water for about ten days, that is, a total of 20 to 30 days, the roots will be more developed and transplanted to the prepared flower pot. The bottom of the flowerpot can be filled with a little organic fertilizer or farmyard manure, and the soil must be loose, breathable and fertile. After planting, put it in a cool and ventilated place for a period of time.

During this period, pay attention to spraying water mist on the leaf surface and surrounding area to keep the pot soil moist. After about 10 to 15 days, you can place the pineapple seedlings outdoors in a sunny, warm and humid place.

5. Maintenance
The maintenance of pineapple seedlings is relatively simple, with sufficient sunlight, dry and wet pot soil, fertilization every half a month, about three months, you can grow into a big pineapple. Pay attention when fertilizing, it can be organic fertilizer, farmyard manure, or compound fertilizer. No matter what kind of fertilizer is used, apply it from the edge of the pot soil away from the roots, not close to the roots, and don't get the fertilizer into the leaf core.

6. Flowering

As long as the sun is sufficient, the fertilizer is sufficient, and the temperature is right, the pineapple will bloom for about half a year. Because pineapples are cross-pollinated, it is best to use a small brush to brush each flower after flowering. Artificial pollination will have a great possibility of bearing fruit.

7. Bear fruit
After the pollination is complete, you can see the small pineapple soon. After the small pineapple grows, pay more attention to fertilization to make the pineapple grow bigger. It takes about 200 days from flowering to ripening of the fruit. Wait until the pineapple is fully ripe, then you can pick it and enjoy it!

Many flower lovers when they planting pineapples in pots, the pineapples always grow leaves without blooming and fruiting. Most of them are caused by insufficient light and insufficient fertilization. Pineapples must have sufficient light and fertilizer to blossom and bear fruit!
